The Roger Greenaway Cannon

The Roger Greenaway Cannon

The cannon is awarded by the committee for outstanding effort during the year. It is only given to non-committee members of the club. It's not awarded every year, mainly because most of the hard workers exclude themselves by going on the committee.

Roger Greenaway was the founding Diving Officer of Dacorum Sub Aqua Club in 1976.

The Cannon

The cannon is made of brass and is over 12 inches long. It is mounted on a ship's gun carriage which sits on a wooden base. The whole thing weighs around fifteen pounds or seven kilos. There are plaques on the the base saying The Roger Greenaway Cannon and Awarded for Outstanding Effort. Another plaque lists the winners.

Pat Neilan receives the cannon from Danny Heslon John Reynolds receives the cannon from Steve Owens
