DSACII Club Boat
The club's boat - DSAC2
CapabilityThe Club's boat is a 5.8m Humber Destroyer rigid hull inflatable boat (RIB). We bought it new in 1995 with help from the Foundation for Sport and the Arts. Dacorum Borough Council helped us with land and a grant for a boat shed.
The main purpose of the boat is to provide safety cover and a rescue platform for diving offshore. In 2006 we replaced the original twin 55hp Yamaha engines with a Mercury Optimax 135hp engine. It is equipped with a GPS navigation system, an echo sounder, a VHF radio and an oxygen first aid kit.
The boat also transports the divers to the dive site. It is capable of carrying a six divers, sixty miles at twenty five knots in ideal weather conditions.
