Dacorum Sub Aqua ClubClub MeetingThis page tells you what goes on at the club meeting DS-AC meets at Apsley Village Club each Thursday evening at around 8pm. Apsley Village Club is located in Aplsey opposite to Sainsbury's. See the map. Apsley Village Club is a private members' club, part of the CUI group, so you'll need to identify yourself at the front door. We use the left hand room on the ground floor. If members want to dive or train they need to be at the meeting to find out what is going on. New members will find it useful to come to the meeting regularly to get to know committee members, trip organisers, instructors and, of course, other members of the club. Once you start doing the interesting and fun bits of diving: courses and dive trips, you'll really get to know others in the club. Your first visitIt is better to phone us The reason for this is: the meeting is a very busy time. Most of the face-to-face weekly business of the club takes place between 8 and 9pm on Thursdays. Often we have 30 people at the meeting and they specifically came to talk to someone about something. If this was not enough, we also run courses, do pool training and organise trips on either side of the meeting. Pool TrainingFor people being trained and those doing instruction, pool training takes place between 9pm and 10pm in the 2 and 4 metre pools. Space permitting, others sometimes go down for a swim or chat. The social sideThose not going in the pool can remain at the Apsley Village Club for the weekly social meeting of the club. The crowd builds after 10pm when the trainees and instructors arrive back from the pool. Generally there are people the Club until closing time. |
