April’s Dive Day Returns to Stoney Cove

Waves Shape
Dive manager Kristina P reports

On Sunday 7 April, a group of seven Dacorum Scuba members went to Stoney Cove, an inland dive site in Leicestershire, on one of our club dive days out.

Members of the group had a variety of training objectives: Matthew got acquainted with his new drysuit, and some Sport Diver underwater compass work. Artur and Jonathan also got on with some Sport Diver training with instructor Stuart. Graham and Andrew stepped up as assistant dive managers. They were just getting a flavour of Dive Leader alternate source ascent drills when I had a free-flow for real at 15 metres. So I ended the day snorkelling as they ticked off some fiddly Diver Leader buoyancy and weight drop exercises. We also have a trained-up record keeper, Sarah, who cheerfully helped divers in and out of the water.

Thanks to Training Officer Lindsey for spending time preparing a plan to accommodate everyone’s needs.

Nice work everyone who came along.

If you didn’t attend this month’s club training day, you missed a good day out. Why not come along next time?
