May’s Dive Days Out at Stoney Cove

Waves Shape

Over the weekend of 18 and 19 May, the Dacorum Scuba instructor team delivered some more training for members. A variety of lessons were signed off for Sport Diver and Dive Leader students. Four instructors and four students took part. The venue was Stoney Cove, in Leicestershire, which was busy as the dive schools were out in force.  However, if you swam the other way, avoiding school groups and the BSAC lift and shift skill development course underwater search practice areas, the viz was unexpectedly good, at easily 10m on Saturday at least.

Pike, crayfish, perch and underwater sponge and mussel gardens were seen, including a tiny fish not spotted before that is thought to be a bullhead (Cottus gobio)

If you didn’t attend this month’s club training day, you missed a good day out. Why not come along next time?
