One of the club’s key facilities for divers is the compressor and panel in the gas shed. Plain air fills are free to members, who can fill cylinders once they have attended compressor familiarisation training.
Suitably trained members are able to pay for the gas needed to blend their own more exotic mixes. At less than the commercial cost, nitrox and helium fills are a definite benefit.
For members wanting to go beyond air, the club runs nitrox blending training sessions on how to create mixes for their diving needs. In the March course, nitrox (mixtures of oxygen and air) blending was covered by our Compressor Officer.
The theory session was held on 15 March and the practical was held on 22 March.
With lots of in-depth knowledge from a very experienced teacher, this was a valuable course imparting a key skill to the members who attended, and now that they’re qualified, who we look forward to seeing down at the gas shed in the future.
If any members are interested any of this training, contact the Training Officer.
