Dacorum Scuba has booked with Swanage Boat Charters for a two-dive trip out of Swanage Pier, and will likely be splitting the day between Viper and Mary Jo due to boat schedules.
Expected wrecks are the Betsy Anna and the Carentan.
An 880-tonne steel steamer built in 1892, Betsy Anna was being towed to the Isle of Wight in 1926 for major repairs when she took on water and sank. Lying upright in 24m 5 miles east of Swanage, the bow still stands 4m high pointing upwards and overall the structure makes her an interesting dive.
French warship Carentan was on submarine escort in December 1943 when hit by a storm. Sited close to the popular Kyarra, the wreck of the 400-tonne Carentan is a relatively compact site and easy to cover in one dive.
