The North Sea coastline around Eyemouth and St Abbs provides a huge variety of diving, from scenic reefs, wrecks and drifts at a range of depths but typically within the 20m range. Dacorum Scuba is running a trip to dive in Eyemouth and St Abbs in September 2025 and there are places available for Sports Divers and above.
The sea bed can be carpeted in brittle stars as far as the eye can see, with anemones and sea urchins also in abundance. It is a photographer’s dream destination with long dives times possible on world-class scenic sites at shallow depths. You may be lucky enough to see an Octopus or a Wolffish, the latter is usually only encountered below 60m but here at its southernmost limits on the east coast it can be found at much shallower depths. The voluntary Berwickshire Marine Reserve has just celebrated its 40th anniversary.
If you are an Ocean Diver there is plenty of time for you to qualify as a Sports Diver if you contact the trip organiser and the training team now.
See the event listing for the trip for further details, costs etc.
