The wide variety of diving that Dacorum Scuba members experienced in a year was on display at Dacorum Scuba’s 2025 Photo Competition on Thursday 13 November. With 80 entries in total, including nine videos in a new category, there was plenty for members and visitors to see on the night.
Entries from as far away as Chuuk Lagoon in Micronesia, Japan, and across the Mediterranean jostled with a wealth of entries from UK shores, showing the different environments divers can visit and explore.
The introduction of a Seal category allowed members to show off their special photos of these lovely animals, while the new Video category allowed us to see what members captured on GoPros or other devices. Above covered land-based shots taken on dive trips, sometimes when weather didn’t allow diving itself, on the boat or around the places that we visit for diving. Abroad and UK underwater categories do what they say on the tin. Winners had choice of prizes and the creator of the overall favourite image took home the Underwater Photographer of the Year trophy.
Some 30 members and visitors popped down to the Hemel Hempstead Town Cricket Club for the event, which also featured a club clothing & merchandise sale of our special 50th logo on clothing or drinkware.

And especially thanks to all those who entered: it’s your entries that make it such a rich and interesting social event reminding us of the diving we have done during the year.
