John Lee-Young reports

Saturday dives: Valentine Tanks 15m, Fleur de Lys 12m
Sunday dives:  Black Hawk bow 16m, Barge and Worbarrow nature trail 15m

On Saturday 28  May, member-owner RIB Spirit of Glen was launched from Swanage to take advantage of some fantastic weather conditions and dive the Valentine Tanks then the Fleur de Lys. The algal bloom was settling, so divers were treated to viz in the order of 4-6 metres on both dives. Conger eel, numerous wrasse and the usual shoals of bib were seen on the wrecks. One junior member of DSAC spotted her first lobster. The weather topside was great; bright and dry but not too hot for everyone in their drysuits. Lunch was enjoyed in the sun back on Swanage Pier.

On Sunday, the RIB was moved to Kimmeridge and divers got to explore the Black Hawk Bow  – a well-distributed wreck suited to a leisurely exploration – followed by the Barge and Nature Trail off of Worbarrow. Two members explored the huge boiler and beautiful structure of the Barge before heading off and launching a DSMB and returning to the RIB. Then it was back to Kimmeridge for a leisurely coffee in the warm.
